Therapy with Dr. Clara
“The most profound healing happens in relationship.”
Therapy with me is both highly skilled and deeply human. I bring a creative, research-minded, and relational approach to the therapy room… part clinical nerd, part pattern detective, part compassionate co-conspirator for change.
I work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families whose lives do not fit neatly into one category. Many of my clients are navigating OCD, neurodivergence, complex trauma, emotional intensity, family stress, or treatment histories that have felt frustrating, incomplete, or overly “one-size-fits-all”.
My style is honest, collaborative, practical, and out-of-the-box. I am compassionate, but I am not passive. I will sit with you in hard things, help you make sense of complicated patterns, and tell the truth kindly when something is not working. Therapy with me often includes curiosity, humor, creativity, skill-building, nervous system work, and a willingness to try a different door when the obvious one will not open.
I especially enjoy working with neurodivergent, or “neuro-spicy”, clients across the lifespan. I am drawn to people whose inner worlds are intense, creative, sensitive, analytical, highly patterned, overwhelmed, or difficult for others to fully understand.
My work is informed by evidence-based and experiential approaches, including ERP, DBT, EMDR, family systems therapy, mindfulness, expressive arts, trauma-informed care, and compassion-based practices. When appropriate, I collaborate with schools, physicians, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, physical therapists, dietitians, and other providers to support the whole person and the whole system around them.
At the heart of my work is a belief that therapy should be clinically grounded, deeply respectful, and human enough to make room for the strange, tender, messy, funny, painful, magical, and very real parts of being a person.
